CLEVELAND NECK LIFT PROCEDURES

These procedures are a common treatment at Cleveland Cosmetic Surgery. Thankfully, Dr. Diamantis can correct problems in the neck area with a variety of options.

Our treatment modalities range from KYBELLA®, liposculpture of unwanted submental fat or under-the-chin fat, a 3D neck procedure with muscle plication, and skin tightening.

A thorough evaluation is extremely important because often the problem is associated with a genetic correlation to a receded chin. Many patients choose to rejuvenate the face and neck at the same time.

WHAT IS A NECK LIFT?

A neck liposculpture, or lower rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure that improves visible signs of aging in the jawline and neck, such as:

  • Excess fat and skin relaxation in the lower face that creates jowls
  • Excess fatty deposits under the chin
  • Loose neck skin
  • Muscle banding in the neck, which created abnormal contours

The loss of youthful contours in the face and neck can be due to a variety of factors, including heredity, gravity, environmental conditions, and stress.

Some people feel they are not ready for a full facelift because their upper face is still pleasing. However, many patients will note excess wrinkling of the neck skin, a “turkey wattle” or double chin, and jowl lines. When the neck area doesn’t match the upper facial appearance, a neck procedure may be a good solution.

REJUVENATION PROCEDURES THAT CAN BE PERFORMED IN CONJUNCTION WITH A NECK LIFT ARE:

  • Brow lift, to correct a sagging or deeply furrowed brow
  • Fat transfer with liposculpture to add fullness to the lips and cheeks and reduce the appearance of wrinkles
  • Eyelid surgery, to rejuvenate aging eyes

WHAT NECK LIFT SURGERY WON’T DO:

As a restorative surgery, this procedure does not change your fundamental appearance and cannot stop the aging process.

This procedure can only be performed surgically. Nonsurgical rejuvenation treatments cannot achieve the same results, but may help delay the time at which a surgical procedure becomes appropriate, and also complement the results of cosmetic surgery.

THE EXPERIENCE

This procedure is performed in our AAAHC accredited facilities. A lower rhytidectomy, or neck lift, is an outpatient procedure that requires minimal recovery. This surgery can take as long as 1 to 2 hours to complete while under general anesthesia. After your surgery, we will provide a custom neck garment to help with healing and recovery by minimizing swelling and bruising. After a short rest, usually 12 hours, it’s recommended to avoid strenuous activities for about 2 weeks during general recovery.

FAQ FOR NECK LIFT

The 3-D neck lift is an advanced neck rejuvenation procedure that restores a youthful jawline and neck contour by treating all three anatomical planes: muscle, fat, and skin. This technique tightens neck muscles and platysmal bands, removes unwanted fat, and refines the neck angle, creating a smoother, firmer, more defined neckline. By addressing each layer, the 3-D neck lift delivers a comprehensive, natural-looking, and long-lasting rejuvenation of the lower face and neck.
The WeekendLIFT™ (mini facelift) rejuvenates the face, while the 3-D neck lift enhances the neck and jawline, delivering comprehensive facial rejuvenation and natural-looking results. Together, these procedures improve facial harmony, jawline definition, and neck contour without an overdone appearance. Combining them offers a single recovery, reduced anesthesia time, and cost efficiency, making it an ideal solution for long-lasting, balanced face and neck rejuvenation.
A 3-D neck lift typically ranges from $5,000–$10,000, depending on the extent of correction across the muscle, fat, and skin layers, and whether it is combined with other facial rejuvenation procedures. Pricing is transparent and all-inclusive, covering surgeon fees, anesthesia, and our AAAHC accredited surgical facility costs with no hidden fees.
A 3-D neck lift treats loose, sagging neck skin (turkey neck), platysmal bands (neck bands), submental fat (double chin), and loss of jawline definition. This advanced neck lift procedure delivers a tighter neck, sharper jawline, and smooth, youthful contour with natural-looking, long-lasting results.
3-D neck lift results are long-lasting, typically 10+ years, depending on skin quality, the aging process, and lifestyle. Patients maintain a more defined jawline, tighter neck skin, and improved neck contour—often looking younger by 10–15 years. This advanced neck rejuvenation procedure supports graceful aging, delivering natural-looking, durable results over time.
3-D neck lift recovery typically requires 10–14 days of downtime, with swelling and bruising improving quickly in the first few weeks. Most patients return to normal activities after 2 weeks. Neck lift incisions are discreet and easily hidden in natural creases and hairlines.
A 3-D neck lift is not typically painful and is performed under anesthesia, ensuring no pain during the procedure. After surgery, patients may feel mild tightness or soreness, which is short-lived and easily managed. This advanced neck lift procedure delivers a low-pain experience, comfortable recovery, and natural-looking, long-lasting results.
A 3-D neck lift treats fat, loose skin, and neck muscle laxity (platysmal bands) for comprehensive, long-lasting neck contouring. Chin liposuction removes unwanted fat under the chin and is ideal for isolated fat with good skin elasticity. Because liposuction does not tighten skin or muscle, a consultation is essential to select the most appropriate, customized treatment for natural-looking results.
Neck lift incisions are placed behind the ears, along the hairline, and sometimes within the submental (under chin) crease for discreet, well-concealed scars. These inconspicuous incisions typically fade over time, delivering natural-looking results and allowing patients to wear any hairstyle with confidence.
A 3-D neck lift is ideal for patients with loose neck skin, platysmal bands (neck bands), double chin (submental fat), or poor jawline definition seeking a more youthful, contoured appearance. Patients with a genetic predisposition to neck sagging benefit from early treatment, avoiding more invasive surgery. Early intervention supports less downtime, lower overall cost, and optimized jawline and neck contour, delivering durable, high-satisfaction results.
